Police cuffed by rampant By Rite

By Rite had an outstanding victory over Police in Division 1 action last Sunday at the Jimmy Powell Oval.

It was the exuberance of youth in Troy Taylor batting and the experience in Kenute Tulloch bowling which overwhelmed the Police.

Batting first, By Rite reached a massive total of 265 for 6 with all round contributions from Taylor 66 not out, Omar Willis 58, captain Conroy Wright 49 and Jalon Linton 38.

It was no letting up as Kenute “Hand Full” Tulloch 5 for 22 and Conroy Wright 3 for 21 was too much for the Police to handle.

It is a sign of maturity from Taylor and Willis as they occupied the crease for 25 overs, making ones into twos and displaying quality batting. By Rite won by 134 runs.

At the Smith Road Oval, Greenies made small work of ESSO Tigers, winning by 8 wickets. Marlon Bryan’s pace and accuracy produced outstanding figures of 4 for 38. He was well supported by Ryan Bovell 3 and Peter Bigwood 2 wickets.

In Division Two, Omar Willis hit 101 not out and Milton Johnson 44 took ESSO Cubs to 236 for 6, but Aims Consultants were not intimidated.

Chris Williams spanked the Cubs bowling with 7 fours and 5 sixes taking Aims Consultants to an unlikely victory with only four balls remaining. Aiding Williams was Basil Legore 31 and Clive “Runs” Kelly 23. Aims Consultants won by 1 wicket.
