There are lots of camps this summer to keep youngsters entertained. Here’s a listing of some of the most popular. 


CayKids Club of Cayman  

Be a Star Summer Camp: Cheerleaders, pom pom and dance squads. Fun for all ages and abilities including college level teens 18 years and older. From 15 July through 23 August, Monday to Friday, 8am to 3.30pm. Camp sessions will be held at Camana Bay, or local gyms and school fields.

Summer Camp Adventure Tours: Games, outdoor play, fishing, field trips, arts and crafts, treasure hunts and more! Designed for all ages from 2 July to 30 August, 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. $215 per week, early drop off and late pick up available.

Two Captain’s Culinary Camps: Kids aged seven and older will enjoy learning how to cook a variety of seafood dishes, as well as enjoy field trips to local seafood restaurants. Camp fees include chef apron, culinary classes, recipes, gourmet food, snacks, drinks and field trips. $550 per week, throughout July and August, from 10am to 3pm.

Half Day Swim and Water Safety Camps: Designed for all ages and ability levels, from 7am to 12pm, and 1pm to 6pm. Half day swim camp, $250 per week, or $75 per day.

Triple C School  

Summer Enrichment Camp 

Designed for all children from pre-school to 6th grade. Language, arts and crafts, writing and maths. Morning and afternoon snacks provided. From 24 June to 2 August, 7.30am to 3pm. $650 for 6 weeks of tuition, after care $100.

Cayman Learning Centre  

Cayman Learning Centre has a slew of academic programmes running throughout the summer vacation for ages three to 13 to help keep your child’s mind active, including the Building Blocks Programme, Morning Reading or Maths Camp, Intensive Read and Spell Programme and the Afternoon Literacy or Numeracy Programmes. The centre is located in Pasadora Place along Smith Road. Morning Academic Camps are priced at $325 per week.

Cayman Riding School  

Horse Riding Camp 

From 1 July to 30 August, the camp includes daily riding lessons and stable management. Geared toward children aged five and older and suitable for all levels. The camp is run by the only British Horse Society Instructors on Grand Cayman. From 8.30am to 12.30pm, $50 per day.

Fitness Connection  

Summer Camp 

Children will enjoy a host of activities, including sports, crafts, games and even learning how to cook. Each week of camp has a different theme, from Pirates on the High Seas to Ocean Odyssey. Designed for children aged four to 12. From 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. $375 per week. Fitness Connection is also holding a Summer Swim Camp.

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman  

Ambassadors of the Environment  

Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment includes snorkelling, field trips, arts and crafts, photography, science experiments and lots of team building fun and games, all designed to teach children about the environment and sustainable living. A variety of camps run throughout the summer months, starting at $335 per week for the afternoon camp option.

Montessori Home Tutoring  

Learning Camps: Home based camps for small groups of similar aged children. Programmes are aligned with the National Curriculum of England and Wales and are suitable for children from three to eight-years. The summer learning camps aim to make learning as much fun as possible! Camps run Monday to Friday, 9am to 12pm, throughout July and August. $250 per child.

Around the World in Music and Culture Camp: Week commencing 8 July, Montessori Home Tutoring will be working with Musicians Ltd. to provide a fantastic summer camp called ‘Around the World in Music and Culture’. The camp will be at the new Musicians Studio (Dorcy Drive) and children will have access to teachers who specialise in music, art, dance and drama. The camp runs 8 to 12 July, from 8.30am to 2.30pm, and is suitable for children five to 11. Cost is $275 per child.

Etiquette Workshops: Etiquette workshops are always exciting, especially the dinner party on the last lesson where kids get to practice their table manners and eat ‘Buckingham Palace’ style! Workshops take place at home with small groups of children from five years of age. Cost is $75 per child for three sessions.

Camana Bay 

3rd Annual Camana Bay Multi-Sport Camp  

The Camana Bay Sport & Recreation team once again hosts its well-rounded sports camp for young athletes, from 8 to 12 July and 15 to 19 July. Geared towards children aged six to 14, Camana Bay’s Multi-Sport Camp is a great way for budding sports persons of all levels to improve their skills or simply try a new sport in a fun and positive environment. Campers will be exposed to a variety of sports and activities, helping to improve their skills while enhancing overall athletic ability. Participants will have the opportunity to excel at their favourite sports, while gaining exposure to new ones. Daily activities include basketball, volleyball, tennis, swimming, football and more. From 8am to 12pm at the Camana Bay Sports Complex. Cost is $125.

5th Annual Camana Bay Basketball Camp with the Orlando Magic 

Camana Bay’s Orlando Magic Basketball Camp from 22 to 26 July is a unique opportunity for aspiring hoop stars to train with a special guest from the Orlando Magic. Campers will receive authentic NBA instruction from Orlando Magic Youth Basketball and Basketball Operations staff, improving their skills through stations, drills, skills, contests and live games. The cost of $150 includes a camp T-shirt, giveaways, prizes and awards. Session I (ages seven to 12): 8:30am-12pm; Session II (ages 12 to 17) 12:30 to 4pm.

Sea & Discover Camp at Camana Bay 

The Sea & Discover Camp allows kids aged eight to 12 to gain experience and appreciation of the interconnectedness of Cayman’s marine environments. Experience live animal encounters, hands-on activities and a different snorkel location each day. Camps feature Catboat demonstrations, marine conservation, a mangrove boat trip, gooey dissections, the remarkable world of turtles, adventures with recycling and the chance to learn underwater photography. Kids will finish an exciting week of activities with a boat trip onto the North Sound! From 15 July through 2 August, 8.30am to 3pm.

Cayman Islands Sailing Club 

Sailing Summer Camp 

Children aged five to 17 will learn and develop sailing skills while taking part in a variety of fun activities both on and off water. From 24 June through 30 August, 9am to 4pm, at the Cayman Islands Sailing Club, Red Bay. Cost for the two week camp is $600 or $500 for CISC members. Lunch can be provided as an extra.  

Kings Sports Centre 

Summer Camp 

Designed for children aged five to 12, kids will enjoy fun activities such as bowling, basketball, football, squash, dodge ball, arts and crafts, rock climbing, drama, singing and more. The camp is held from 8 July through 2 August, Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 5pm. Camp includes all activities, lunch and supplies and early drop off and late pick up are available. Camp is priced at $210 per week, with discounts for groups or when booking two or more weeks.

United Church 

Annual Summer Camp 

Summer camp will be held for teenagers from 29 June to 4 July and for children from 6 to 11 July. The camp offers children and teens the opportunity to enjoy a week of fun-filled activities and fellowship. This year’s camp theme is Jesus is our Hip Hop Hope. Camp costs $120 for the week, and includes three meals a day, outings, activities as well as overnight accommodation. The camp is held at the United Church Prospect Youth Centre and drop off is at 3pm on the first day of camp.

Creative Arts Summer Camps and Classes 

For children aged five years and older throughout the months of July and August, from 9am to 2pm. Youngsters will enjoy music, visual arts, crafts, drama, musical theatre, talent shows, song writing and more. The camp is priced at $200 per week, or $60 per day.

Science Environment Animals Programme 

For children aged six years and older, this programme runs from the 1 to 5 July and is designed to teach little ones about their surrounding environment. Youngsters will enjoy snorkelling, arts, crafts, surveys and treasure hunts. The camp will be held at Smith Cove, from 1pm to 4pm. $250 per week, Monday to Friday.

Back to School Summer Camp 

From 19 to 23 August, 1pm to 3pm. With the use of games and fun activities, little ones will practice learning school rules, how to make friends, how to calm down, how to listen and many other things that will help with the transition from summer fun to back to school. For children aged five years and older. Cost is $250 per week.

Youth Services 

The Youth Services Unit plans on offering two camps – School to Work and Beginners Culinary Camp – this year for youngsters aged 12 to 17. The Camps are slated to be held from 8 to 19 July, from 8.30am to 2pm. As of press time details were still being confirmed.

Cayman National Cultural Foundation  

Summer Arts Camp 

CNCF offers a Summer Arts Camp annually for youth aged seven to 16. Children six years of age may also attend if an older sibling is registered. Campers get involved in a variety of artistic and cultural activities such as drama, storytelling, dance, music, thatch plaiting, food, art and other arts and 
traditional craft projects. Depending on the camp theme, children also enjoy a field trip to a site of cultural and historical importance or visit a sister organisation for an interactive experience off campus. Summer Arts Camp takes place at the F. J. Harquail Cultural Centre in either July or August, from Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm. Subsidised by the CNCF, the cost for attending the camp is $170 per child for 10 days with light snacks included (to attend for one week only, the cost is $100 per child).

First Assembly of God 

Camp Adventure 

For children aged 5 to 10, camp will be held from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday from 8 July to 23 August. Priced at $100 per week, this year’s camp will have a special emphasis on sports, with local athletes teaching youngsters a variety of different sports, including a one week Sports Boot Camp. Other activities include arts and crafts, singing and a wide selection of field trips, including to the botanical gardens, Dolphin Discovery and the Turtle Farm.
