Firearm charge withdrawn

José Guadelupe Sanchez, 26, and Chelsea Ann Bush, 20, had a firearm charge against them dismissed in
Summary Court last week.

Senior Crown Counsel Elisabeth Lees told Magistrate Valdis Foldats that the complainant did not want police action and had given a further statement that
he would not attend court.

The defendants had been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit an offence. The charge referred to “imitation” because no firearm was recovered.

Sanchez, who was also charged with threatening violence, had
been arrested after an incident on Friday
night, 3 May, outside Club Inferno in West Bay.

He remained in custody until the court granted bail on 7 May. Bush had been on police bail. Conditions for both had included no
contact with the complainant, either direct or indirect.
