The Golden Apple Awards committee, which celebrates talented teachers in the Cayman Islands, has extended its deadline for nominations.
Members of the public have until Friday this week to nominate educators in the categories of primary school teacher in public school; primary school teacher in a private school; high school teacher in a public school; high school teacher in a private school; and principal in a public or private school.
One nominee will also receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Teachers eligible for this award will have a minimum of 25 years’ experience in education, of which, 15 years must have been in the Cayman Islands and made a significant and lasting contribution to the improvement of the educational environment here.
“The full involvement of the community is integral to the success of this program,” said Tiffany Dixon-Ebanks, programs manager for the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce.

The gala awards event will be Nov. 30 at the Westin Beach Resort Grand Cayman.
