A teenage girl was stabbed in the back in central George Town early Sunday, according to reports received by the Caymanian Compass.
Police received a report at 1:39 a.m. Sunday that the 15-year-old was “injured in her back” off Shedden Road.
The victim was transported to Cayman Islands Hospital by a private vehicle and the injury was not life-threatening, police said.
Police said the injury occurred during a fight with another female. Officers were unsure of the type of weapon used.
Armed robbery report
An armed robbery was reported early Sunday morning in the vicinity of George Town.
According to police, at about 12:30 a.m., a “hold up” was reported in the vicinity of Red Gate Road involving three suspects armed with what appeared to be a firearm and a knife.
Two men were arrested shortly after the incident.
On Friday, a woman was robbed of her purse by a knife-wielding man in East End, police reported.
The incident happened at 4:07 p.m. when the victim reported that a man held her up at knife point on Austin Conolly Drive in East End. A large amount of cash was taken from the woman’s bag.
There were no injuries and no firearm was reported to be involved.
Officers of the eastern districts attended and carried out an extensive search but no arrests were reported.
