New technology center breaks ground

NCB Group, which is developing new office space that includes solar and geothermal technologies, recently broke ground for its Cayman Technology Centre.

The office space, to be anchored by The Security Centre and a retail bank, is just off the Cayman National roundabout, on the corner of Printer’s Way and North Sound Road.

The Technology Centre will one of the most energy-efficient office spaces in Cayman, according to the developer.

The spaces will be cooled with geothermal technology, while common areas will be powered by solar panels to reduce operating costs.

Managing director for NCB Group Matthew Wight said tenants will “not only save money on their monthly utility bills, but as developers, we are helping the environment and greatly reducing our carbon footprint.”
The commercial property includes a combination of retail and office space over four two-story buildings. The Security Centre has leased one of the 15,000-square-foot buildings with a retail showroom taking the lower level and corporate offices occupying the second floor.

“The next phase of our growth calls for an office building that demonstrates the advancements in our industry. Cayman Technology Centre ticks all of our boxes in what we are looking for,” said Stuart Bostock, president and CEO of The Security Centre.
