Diamonds International robbed

The main store of Diamonds International was robbed early Wednesday morning.  There were reports of shots fired but no injuries, according to police.

Three people are in custody and the matter is under investigation, police said.

Royal Cayman Islands Police and other emergency crews responded to the jewelry store on North Church Street at 8:30 a.m.

Employees and others waited outside the store while police investigated. Authorities ask pedestrians and motorists to avoid North Church Street while the scene is being processed.

Anyone with information about this crime or who may have been in the North Church Street area since 7:30 a.m. Wednesday is asked to call 949-7777 or 800-TIPS to remain anonymous.
