Sailing, thatch weaving, kitchen band music and Caymanian cooking are set to hit the books at Triple C School as part of a new after-school club.
The National Trust has launched “Heritage Heroes” Youth Conservation Club to teach students the importance of protecting the natural environment, history and culture of the Cayman Islands.
The program is designed to help middle school students through participation in environmental and historic field trips, community service, wildlife encounters and eco-projects.
The National Trust will host an island-wide competition inviting students to invent their own superhero to join the program’s four superheroes, created around Cayman’s culture.
Heritage Heroes is a joint sponsorship with Walkers and PricewaterhouseCoopers and will be offered to additional schools and to youth service organizations next year.
