Sharks to continue feeding frenzy at Kings against Pirates

Local ball hockey is fast approaching its final stages.

Round 24 of the 28-week Caribbean Creations Ball Hockey League will take place at Kings Sports Center on April 3. The 17-3-3 Sharks will battle the 8-2-13 Pirates at 8 p.m. with the 8-2-13 Barracudas facing the 8-3-12 Deloitte Devil Rays at 9 p.m.

The Sharks have been running away with the regular season crown and the latest victory was a 8-1 thrashing of the Barracudas last week. The statistics back up the dominance of the frontrunners as they have the league’s top offense (scoring a competition-best 128 goals) and best defense (allowing a league-low 51 goals). Brad De Schiffert leads the league in goals (27) and ranks second in assists (14). Team mate Claude Plamondon has been equally impressive, scoring 22 goals while dishing out a league-high 21 assists.

Rounding out the top five scorers is Evan Ellbogen of the Barracudas with 20 goals, Jamie Nelson of the Sharks with 18 goals and Derek Bruce of the Pirates with 16 scores. Paul Strenk of the Pirates has 11 assists, Brendan Rainonen of the Sharks has 10 assists and Jamie Nelson of the Sharks nabbed nine assists.
