Tigers maul Prison but By Rite remain top dogs as games lengthen

SOL Tigers defeated Prison in a rain shortened Division 1 match on Sunday at the Jimmy Powell Oval.

It was excellent running between the wickets from Darren Cato 56 and Gregory Smith 31 not out, which lead SOL Tigers to victory by 5 wickets. After Dave Holness 77 and Kervin Ebanks 34 took Prison to a respectable 162 for 4 wickets in 22 overs, the Cato and Smith combination proved to be decisive. The match between Greenies 1 and Police match was washed out.

The SOL Tigers against Prison match completed Round 1 of Division 1 over 40 overs. The action returns in Round 2 over 50 overs this Sunday with By Rite riding high having won all their Round 1 matches.

Chillies pulled off an unlikely victory over JJ’S on Saturday. JJ’S lead by Kernel Coley 75 and Mark Legore 46 not out, totaled 213 but Chillies were undaunted. Chillies batsmen – Kiran Scott 59, Lenin Bodden 46 and Rocky Ebanks 29 not out, were good enough to achieve victory by 6 wickets.

Paramount defeated Schools by 8 wickets in another Division 2 match. A very patient 44 by Edward Bodden and Ajani Anderson 22 were not enough to stop Paramount gaining the upper hand with Donald Carter 33 and Leon Watson 31 leading them to victory.

Darren Cato got a big score.
