Prison locked out By Rite

Prison cricket team provided a surprise victory by defeating By Rite in the Division 1 T20 semifinal played at the Smith Road Oval last weekend.  

Overwhelming favorites By Rite met a rejuvenated Prison team, and By Rite lost their first match of the season on Sunday. By Rite ran away with the league title and were expected to lock down Prison.  

Batting first Prison made 113 for 8 with Kevin Bazil 41 not out and Dave Holness 24 the main contributors.  

It was the bowling of Donald Carter 4 wickets and Ronald Ebanks with 3 wickets that restricted By Rite to 107 for 9 wickets.  

Prison won by 6 runs and have now booked a meeting with Greenies 1 in the Division 1 T20 final this Sunday. 

In the Women’s League, an outstanding batting partnership of 72 runs between Natasha Roberts 30 and Sheila Rankine 26 laid the foundation for a victory for Islanders over league leaders Panthers.  

Islanders batted first and scored 126 for 5 wickets. Only Carneth Thomas 28 not out and Marcia Moiten 17 provided any resistance to the Islanders bowling. Young Jada Morgan took 3 wickets for Islanders. Islanders won by 20 runs.
