Hockey update

The 2014 fall Ball Hockey League is heading into week five, with matches on Thursday night.

At 8 p.m. the 2-1-1 Sharks challenge the 1-3 Pirates before the 2-1-1 Barracudas battle the 1-2-1 Devil Rays at 9 p.m. The standings speak to a balanced competition as no team has pulled away from the rest in terms of results and statistical dominance.

The scoring title race is also close as Brian Lehnerer of the Rays leads the league with five goals, with Evan Ellbogen and Andrew Bowden of the Barracudas tied for second with four scores. Dylan Wiltermuth of the Rays has a league-best three assists, along with Jamie Nelson of the Sharks. A handful of players have two assists.
