The Cayman Islands Football Association has planned another busy calendar of courses to provide certification opportunities to coaches, team medical personnel and administrators.
The calendar kicks off with a FIFA Grassroots coaching course in Cayman Brac from March 24-30. Registrants include local teachers, football coaches and administrators and Grassroots coach-educators. The group of 30 will also be required to undertake darkness to light anti-abuse training.
“CIFA is committed to ensuring coaches and administrators have every opportunity to develop the skills necessary to raise standards both on and off the field,” said first vice-president Bruce Blake. “In addition to first aid, anti-abuse, and Grassroots and “D” License coaching courses – which are mandatory – CIFA has also arranged for instruction on fitness, nutrition, club management, refereeing, women’s football, goalkeeping and sports medicine.”
CIFA’s 2015-16 club licensing regime comes into effect on 1 Sept. and will enforce higher levels of training and certification in football education and administration.
