The Cayman Islands Football Association hosted the CONCACAF Grassroots Coaching Course at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex last weekend.
The Grassroots program, the foundation of football development in the Cayman Islands, is geared toward children ages 5-12.
The course taught participants the role of being a coach educator, the principles of coaching, the teaching-learning process and age-appropriate training objectives and methodologies.
Fifteen people attended the course, which was concluded with a Grassroots festival exercise.
CIFA acting president Bruce Blake said the association understands the importance of the national Grassroots program and is committed to ensuring that the proper fundamentals are taught at this age.
