Two charged with gun possession

A fight involving multiple people at a West Bay Road nightclub just after 3 a.m. Saturday led police to arrest two men after officers found a gun in a vehicle, according to police.

Officers responded to reports of a fight at 3:10 a.m. at the Fete Nightclub at 426 West Bay Road, according to a police press release.

They did not find a fight in progress but there was a large crowd in the parking lot, police said.

Police searched a vehicle based on information from the crowd and discovered a 9mm handgun.

They arrested two men, a 24 year old from North Side and a 25 year old from West Bay.

Both were charged with two counts of possession of an unlicensed firearm for the gun and ammunition, and were scheduled to appear in court Monday afternoon.

  1. Now that is the way police officers need to do their job. A fight broke out, no matter with who or where, threats were made, and police searches vehicles and finds gun.
If police officers were doing this more often we would have less guns on the street.

  2. Yes, yes, yes Twyla.
    I agree 100%.

    Good job Cayman Islands Police.

Let’s hope these two are the same ones who have been robbing businesses with these guns and we can take a breather.
