Youngsters are competing Saturday in “Child Month Cupcake Wars” from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the ballroom of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman.

Six teams are participating – five from Grand Cayman and one from the Brac. Each team of three will have 90 minutes to make two types of cupcakes: one fruit-based and one for those with diabetes.

Judging the competition are Melissa Logan, head pastry chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman; Tya Bovell, National Youth Culinary Program deputy prefect and owner of Forever Cupcakes; and Daniella McGowan, Kiwanis president.

The public is invited to view the judging from noon to 1 p.m.
