What’s the point of living in the Caribbean if you can’t kick your shoes off and wiggle your toes in the sand, even at an evening event? The yearly Island Roast, presented by Feed Our Future Cayman, allows for just that. It is held at Coral Beach, next to Royal Palms, and shoes are optional.

A number of restaurants and resorts participate in the roast, which features mouth-watering food spread out over multiple stations. The casual atmosphere makes it a great social affair, and dancing to the toe-tapping music provided always ensues.

Almost all the tickets had been sold by press time, so if you want to get in on the Island Roast this year, you’ve got to be quick!

Scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8, starting at 6:30 p.m., the evening offers all food and drink for the remarkable price of just $150 per ticket. All proceeds go to Feed Our Future Cayman, which in turn works to fulfill its primary mission of solving childhood hunger and supporting intellectual nourishment in the Cayman Islands.

Smokin' Bros can always be counted on to participate.

According to the organization’s website, “Through funding a nutritionally balanced school lunch program, we provide low cost or free school meals to children in need in public and private schools. This enriches the child’s learning potential and health while reducing the burden on the community.”
