West Bay Police Station temporarily relocates

West Bay Police Station will be closed temporarily from Monday.

The West Bay Police Station will close on Monday, 9 March, as repair work gets under way on the building.

With the closure of the station, at the intersection of Reverend Blackman Road and West Church Street, its services are being shifted to Regatta Office Park.

“The West Bay Police Station will be operating temporarily out of the Regatta Office Park near Governors Square,” a Royal Cayman Islands Police Service spokesperson said. “The station will be located on the second floor of the Windward 3 Building (Unit 210A), off the Esterley Tibbetts Highway and just southwest of the Cost-U-Less roundabout, with the main entrance facing the highway.”

The temporary location will also be accessible from West Bay Road via Lime Tree Bay Avenue.

Police did not describe the nature of the repairs, nor how long they are expected to take, but noted people will be able to reach the new location through the same telephone number – 949-3999.

A large parcel of land along Batabano Road has been cleared to construct a new facility to house the West Bay Police Station. However, no construction has begun on the site. Police say preparations are under way, but they are not able to comment any further at this time.
