Police are searching for four men who made off with an undisclosed sum of cash after an armed robbery at McRuss Grocery in Prospect Wednesday night.

The incident happened shortly after 11pm at the Party Lane grocery store, a police statement on Thursday morning said.

According to reports, four masked men entered the store brandishing firearms at the workers there, and demanded cash.

The men then fled the scene on foot towards the rear of the premises with a quantity of cash and other items.

The suspects were described as wearing long-sleeved hooded shirts, long pants, gloves and full face masks.

One of the men is described as being about 5 feet, 2 inches in height, of dark complexion and chubby build.

Another is described as about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and of slim build.

McRuss management issued a statement Thursday morning on their Facebook page assuring that their employees were “okay” following the robbery, which they described as an “unfortunate occurrence”.

“The outpouring of support from the entire Prospect community has been tremendous and greatly appreciated. We are looking into implementing improvements to our facility and security measures in order to maintain the safety of our staff and customers moving forward,” the McRuss management said.
