Police arrested two suspects after a juvenile male was assaulted in Red Bay in the early hours of Thursday morning.
One of the boy’s parents reported the attack to police around 7am after finding he had serious facial injuries.
Police said it was reported that the boy had left home sometime after 1am and while walking in the Red Bay area, he was approached by a white SUV.
“Three juvenile males known to the victim exited the vehicle and assaulted him, causing him serious facial injuries,” police said in a statement.
The RCIPS said two male juveniles have been arrested on suspicion of assault GBH in relation to this incident. They have both been bailed pending further investigation.
Police did not disclose the ages of the victim or the suspects.
The assault is being investigated by the Criminal Investigations Unit.
