Two men are nursing gunshot wounds following a shooting on Sunday night.
It was one of three firearm-related incidents that happened that night, all of which are under police investigation.
While the wounded men did not report the shooting they did seek medical treatment at Cayman Islands hospital, police said in a press release issued Monday.
Officers went to the hospital around 7:20pm where medical staff were treating the two men for apparent gunshot wounds.
The shooting incident with the men reportedly took place around Tropical Gardens, and was not reported to police by the individuals when it occurred.
One man received medical treatment for a wound to his hand, the other for a wound to his leg.
Shortly after that incident, at around 7:40pm, officers responded to a report that gun shots were heard in the vicinity of Kings Road, West Bay.
Police said officers spoke with a number of individuals in the vicinity of the report when they arrived in the scene and they did not receive corroboration of the report.
Police were told the sound may have been a car backfiring; however, they are investigating this incident.
Just under an hour later, at around 8.30pm, police responded to a report of shots being fired at a bar on Shedden Road, in the vicinity of North Sound Road.
Police said it was stated that a man at that location had sustained facial injuries.
RCIPS Firearm Response Unit officers arrived at the scene within five minutes and police attended to the injured man. However, they said the injuries did not appear to be as a result of a firearm.
Police said further investigation into the incident revealed that an altercation had taken place, following which shots were fired in the air.
The other people involved in the incident left the location before the police arrived.
Police are investigating all three incidents and they are appealing to anyone who has any information to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
