For the ninth consecutive year, Harneys is sponsoring the Cayman Islands Youth Parliament, a programme that empowers young people aged 15-25 to engage with democracy and parliamentary practices. This annual event provides participants with a platform to voice their ideas, debate pressing issues, and gain invaluable insights into the workings of the Cayman Islands Parliament.
Kenneth Bryan, Chairman of the Youth Parliament Programme, said, “The CIYP provides an invaluable opportunity for young people to engage with and understand our democratic process. Harneys’ ongoing support has played an important role in helping us sustain this programme and encourage youth participation in shaping the future of our islands.”
Ben Hobden and Jessica Williams, co-heads of the firm’s Litigation & Insolvency and Restructuring teams in the Cayman Islands, presented the sponsorship cheque to the Cayman Islands Youth Parliament. Jessica commented: “At Harneys, we believe in investing in the next generation of leaders. The Youth Parliament is a powerful platform for young people to develop their skills, share their perspectives, and make a meaningful impact on their communities. We’re honoured to continue supporting this incredible programme.”
