Base criticism on performance

I read with interest the letter from a person whose name was withheld voicing criticism of the newly appointed Commissioner of Police.

As a concerned Caymanian, particularly with the escalation of crime on Grand Cayman, I would advise the said person not to place such credibility and importance to articles contained in the muck-raking gutter press and to judge the Commissioner on his future performance and not some domestic issue that occurred in the distant past.

Many people, in this less than perfect world, have been guilty of such issues and it has not affected their ability to perform their duties in an exemplary manner.

My opinions are echoed by many respectable Caymanians, and I am not afraid to attach my name to this letter.
