With just the click of a mouse, students, teachers, parents and the public can learn all about Leading Edge High School.
The school’s new website www.leadingedge.edu.ky was launched on Wednesday afternoon at a special function for teachers and education stakeholders held in the school’s staff room, where the website was welcomed by all involved.
‘This is just the start and the sky’s the limit with what we can do with it,’ said School Leader Lyneth Monteith following the launch. ‘We’re now easily accessible to people.’
One of the aims of the school is to promote and develop links with the local and wider global community, in which the website will play an important role in showcasing the school, she commented.
The website is geared towards students of Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9, teachers, parents, and other interested stakeholders.
Designed by science teacher Mr. Cleyo Lawrence, the website includes important information to help all those involved to stay in touch with what is happening at the school and to learn more about the school. Included in the site are student and parent bulletins, news and photos from the school, an outline of staff and topics involved in each subject, school policies including discipline and grading, and information about extra-curricular activities.
Parents can also find contact information for teachers on the site.
Present to celebrate the launch of the website in the school’s staff room were: School leader Lyneth Monteith; Deputy School Leader Evelyn Rockett-McLaughlin; Campus Director, Adora Bodden-Groome; Strategic Development Advisor, Ministry of Education, Gareth Long; ICT Manager, Ministry of Education, Mr. Steve Durksen; Chief Education Officer Shirley Wahler, along with staff members of the school.
