My family and I first discovered Grand Cayman and Cayman Kai in 1983.

Since then we have spent well over 20 wonderful vacations at Cayman Kai and The Retreat after the Kai closed.

It would be a travesty against the beauty and tranquility of North Side and the lovely people living there to allow the greed and avarice of a small group to override the many property owners who have spent years living there and caring for the land.

A boutique hotel with restaurant and bar facilities that did not import thousands of tourists daily, would be a much welcomed addition to the area.

One Seven Mile Beach is more than enough.

The real Cayman still survives on the North Side; let’s hope it can continue to do so for many years to come.
