A man died this afternoon at George Town hospital more than a week after he was struck while riding a bicycle along one of Cayman’s busiest streets.
The accident victim, identified as 32-year-old Artes Lopez Manalang of the Phillipines, was riding past Kirk’s Supermarket on North Church Street around 9.20pm on 5 August when his bicycle collided with a Honda Civic.
Police officers are still asking for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward and give statements to officers at the Traffic Management Unit.
Officers said a 25-year-old woman was driving the Honda when the accident happened, but she was never arrested and has not been charged with any offences.
Mr. Manalang’s death is the eighth to occur so far this year on Cayman Islands roads.
