Temporary Trailer Site:
Fill and prep work on the temporary trailer site at Watering Place was completed yesterday. This included the installation of septic tanks, and water tanks are to be installed today and Friday. The site is to house 12 trailers which are expected to be powered up over the weekend.Persons may call the Brac Command Centre at 925-626l; 925-6262 and 925-6265 for further information.

More Relief Supplies: Given the continuing bad weather, relief supplies were flown into Little Cayman on Wednesday.

Immigration: Persons in Cayman Brac who require immigration services may contact the Immigration Department’s administrative office which is now temporarily located at the Gerrard Smith International Airport.

Credit Union Services: The CISCA Credit Union is now offering loans and other services from the UCCI building in Stake Bay. Cheques for persons who applied for loans on Monday and Tuesday of this week are expected to be distributed today and Friday.

Cayman National Bank, LC: CNB is expected to start operating today (Thursday, 20 November) from the Southern Cross Club in Little Cayman. The bank’s hours will be weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

Faith Hospital Up and Running: The Faith Hospital is now fully operational with power and computer systems restored. A volunteer team from Deloitte will be assisting with repairs and cleanup around the hospital grounds on Friday.

Power and Light: Brac Power and Light has reconnected the District Administration Building and Cayman Brac High School. Some high school students are scheduled to return on Friday but repairs are still being carried out on the District Administration Building.

Cayman Brac High to Open Soon: The Education Department is hopeful that Cayman Brac High School’s Year 11 and 12 students will be able to return to class by Friday of this week. At the primary school level, the recovery effort will be focusing on West End Primary, which will hopefully be ready to reopen by the end of next week.

National Recovery Fund Sets up Shop on the Brac: The Cayman Islands National Recovery Fund (NRF) now has an office on Cayman Brac next to the Spot Bay distribution centre in Max Plaza (locally known as Julia McLaughlin’s Plaza). Residents will be able to apply for financial assistance at the same time they go to pick up supplies. Office hours are Monday to Friday from 8a.m. to 5p.m., and NRF staff will be on hand to help people complete the forms.
