Police investigate botched robbery

Detectives in George Town are investigating an attempted armed robbery which occurred on Sunday, April 19.

At around 1.20pm, a man attended George Town police station to report an attempted armed robbery had occurred at a home in the Windsor Park earlier in the day.

Police responded to the location and found that three people, two men and a woman, had been in the house when two suspects entered. One of the suspects was carrying a handgun.

Police said the men demanded money from the occupants who refused. A struggle ensued causing the offender to drop the weapon. The two suspects then ran from the house empty-handed.

Police have recovered the weapon, a loaded semi-automatic pistol. One of the victims suffered some minor injuries during the struggle.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. The first suspect was described as 6ft 5ins tall, very slim with a dark brown complexion possibly in his early 30’s. Witness also said he had a slim face, black low cut hair, no facial hair, and a broad, bulging nose

The second man was described as 5ft 11ins tall, with a medium build in his late 20’s. Witnesses said he had a round face with no facial hair.
