The facilities were officially opened by Cabinet Ministers Mike Adam, Mark Scotland. Rolston Anglin, Cayman International School student Jamie-Lauren McTaggart and Director Jean Caskey, Dart Enterprise’s Mark Vandervelde and Ed Grampp at the Cayman International School site on Tuesday.

The 20,000-square-foot multipurpose facility will be used on a regular basis by Grand Cayman’s organisations, businesses, community and national sports teams.

Cayman International School will use the building during regular school hours; outside of these hours it will be open to the community.

The building has a 2,412-square-foot exterior covered terrace for entertaining.

Indoor facilities include basketball, volleyball and badminton courts; bleachers with seating for more than 400 spectators, women’s and men’s lockers, showers and changing rooms.

There is also a 787-square-foot wood stage, floor space for meetings and events and a fully-equipped kitchen.

During the brief ceremony, the school’s early, elementary and secondary students entertained guests with a number of musicals. Following refreshments, attendees were invited to tour the Cayman International School campus.

Persons interested in using the centre can contact the manager Jeffrey Wight at 640-3641 or 323-0697 or email [email protected].
