The Royal Cayman Islands Police charged three men with murder in the death of Omar Samuels.
Osbourne Wilfred Douglas, 22; Patrick Elbert McField, 22; and Brandon Mikkyle Leslie, 23; were charged by RCIPS Detective Inspector Kim Evans Saturday. The three men will appear before the court on Monday morning.
Mr. Samuels, 28, was found with a gunshot wound to his leg in the McField Lane area of George Town in the early hours of 5 July.. A post mortem was carried a week later showed Mr Samuels had a single gun shot wound to his leg that penetrated the femoral artery.
The three suspects were arrested by the investigation team on suspicion of murder eight weeks after the shooting.
Inspector Evans said the team has been working exceptionally hard on the case and thanked the community for its support.
‘Every piece of information given to us is vital to the investigation,’ he said.
Despite the charges, Inspector Evans stressed that anyone with information relating to Mr Samuels’ death who has not spoken to an officer should do so. Inspector Evans can be reached on 925-6761 or 925-7240.
