Woman robbed in George Town

A woman was physically assaulted
and robbed late Monday night in George
Town as she made her way home from a local bar.

Royal Cayman Islands Police said a
man carrying what appeared to be a baton came up behind the woman on Slate Drive near Helen Drive and
struck her.

After hitting the victim, police
said the man shoved her to the ground and stole her handbag. He was last seen
running toward Helen Drive.

The robber was described as
5’11” with a slim build and dark complexion, wearing a dark short-sleeved
shirt and dark three-quarter length pants. The victim said the man had his
shirt pulled over his head.

robbery is asked to contact Detective Constable Andrew Bowen at George Town
Police Station on 949-4222.
