Three arrests outside court house

Three people were arrested outside
the court house in downtown George
Town Tuesday in two apparently unrelated incidents.

The first two arrests, which
occurred around 11.30am Tuesday, happened shortly after a 16-year-old murder
suspect was brought from the court house following an appearance before
magistrates.

Royal Cayman Islands Police
Inspector Mark Schofield confirmed that both men were arrested on suspicion of
disorderly conduct and were being interviewed by officers Tuesday afternoon.

A number of individuals had
gathered outside the court house just before noon, mainly family members and
friends of the teenage suspect. According to witnesses, some were shouting
words of encouragement to the young man.

Mr. Schofield could not immediately
confirm whether the two taken into custody by police were part of that group.

About an hour later, RCIPS officers
said a 34-year-old male was arrested in the vicinity of the court house. Police
said he was taken into custody for offences related to the conditions of his
bail.
