Stabbing victim out of the hospital

A man who was stabbed in the chest
somewhere in downtown George Town overnight Saturday was released from hospital
on Monday.

Royal Cayman Islands Police are
investigating the reported robbery and stabbing that occurred late Saturday
night or in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police said a 32-year-old man was
walking in George Town when he was pushed to the ground. A struggle ensued and
the assailant fled the scene with his victim’s wallet.

It was believed the incident took
place in somewhere in the vicinity of Mary Street, Dr. Roys Drive and Genesis
Close, but police didn’t specify a time.

The man sustained a chest injury in
the attack and flagged down a passing car for assistance. Police said the
driver of the car took the man to the Cayman Islands Hospital.

Police enquiries to establish
exactly where and when this attack took place are ongoing.

Detective Constable Wade Chase is
appealing to anyone who has any information about this crime to come forward.

“If you were the Good Samaritan who
drove the victim to the hospital I need to speak to you as a matter of
urgency,” Detective Chase said. “You may have valuable information, which could
help us with the enquiry and trace the person responsible for this vicious
attack.”
