Auction to help wildlife on Little Cayman

An auction to raise funds for the Little
Cayman District National Trust will be held on Easter Saturday, 23 April.

Funds will be used to help purchase land
for iguanas, turtle nesting and other wildlife needs, explained Brenda Hines, a
member of the Little Cayman District Committee of the National Trust.

“Additionally, this year the Trust is
asking for special donations to refurbish the furniture and fixtures in the
Trust house. The fixtures are displays of local birds, wildlife and ecological
displays. School groups go through the Trust house for lectures several times a
year and displays need to be updated,” she said.

Up for auction will be artwork,
glasswork, lamps, gift certificates from restaurants and a Kittiwake dive from
Divers Down.

Items and services for the live and
silent auction are still being accepted, Ms Hines said.

This will be the 19th annual Easter
auction for the National Trust on Little Cayman. It will be held at the
National Trust Building.

The mission of the National Trust is to
preserve natural environments and places of historic significance for present
and future generations of the Cayman Islands.

For more information about the auction
or to donate items, contact Debbie Truchan, chairman of the Little Cayman
District National Trust on 925-6442.

Items and services for the live and
silent auction are still being accepted.
