Participants in the 5K run/walk organised by the Cayman Islands Nurse’s Association will be getting up before the sun rises on Saturday, 7 May, for a 6.30am start.
The fundraising event, which kicks off Nurses Week, takes place in and around Camana Bay and is open to all. The route begins at the Observation Tower and circles the Cayman Islands International School twice, staying well away from main roads and traffic. Therefore, organisers say, it will suitable for families and those who want to bring their dogs.
Funds raised will go toward buying much-needed playground equipment for the Lighthouse School. Various nurses are involved with children at the school and are keen that proceeds should benefit this important cause.
Registration is $15 for adults and $5 for children under 16 and will include a T-shirt, snacks at the finish line and entry into a raffle. For those unable to participate in the walk but who still wish to lend their support, the Peace, Love, Nursing T-shirts can be purchased for $15.
Participants may register online via www.caymanactive.com or in person from 6am on the day.
