Ritz-Carlton scoops another gong

The Ritz-Carlton Suite at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman has been named the Caribbean’s Leading Suite.

The accolade was given at the Caribbean leg of the World Tourism Awards in Montego Bay. VIPs, senior tourism figures, captains of industry and international media travelled from more than 30 nations to attend WTA’s Caribbean & The Americas Gala Ceremony 2011 at Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort & Private Island.

Jamaica walked off with a clutch of awards, including Caribbean’s Leading Destination – for the sixth year running – Caribbean’s Leading Tourist Board and Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Destination. Leading airline was Caribbean Airlines.

Remarkable resilience

Graham E. Cooke, president and founder of World Travel Awards, underlined the remarkable resilience of the Caribbean’s travel and tourism economy despite the global recession.

Also at the awards, Little Cayman Beach Resort was named Cayman Islands’ Leading Boutique Hotel, Grand Cayman Beach Suites the Leading Resort and the Ritz-Carlton the Leading Spa Resort.
