Off The Beaten Track returns

The third annual Off The Beaten Track 50k Ultra Marathon is only three days away.

This unique trail run is unique to other races not only in length, but also the route itself. Individual runners and relay teams of six are encouraged to take on this challenge.

The official route for Off The Beaten Track has just been released. Unlike other races, this route will have limited markers and signage, so it is up to the runners to be prepared and familiarise themselves prior to race day. Ken Krys, CEO of KRyS Global and founder of Off The Beaten Track has participated in similar races in Morocco, South America and Antarctica.

“We are trying to mix it up a little more than previous years, making it a little tougher and unique,” Krys said. “This race will give runners the chance to see neighbourhoods and areas of the island that they may not be familiar with. We’ll include some dyke roads, beach and brush, so it is intended to be a challenging course.”

The route is divided into six legs that comprise of Seven Mile Beach, West Bay, Safehaven, George Town, Airport/Business Parks and throughout South Sound.

Sponsors of the race include KRyS Global, Tower Marketing, BrownRudnick, Conyers Dill and Pearman, Ritch & Conolly and Cayman Free Press.
