A delicious beach cleanup

There’s plenty of reasons to keep our stunning beaches clean but Southern Cross Club in conjunction with Cayman Distributors has another boost on Saturday, 25 February.

People of Little Cayman are encouraged to meet at Southern Cross Club from 9am and will head toward Point of Sand and Jackson’s Blight. Trash bags will be provided, we’re told, but what we’re most intrigued by is the fact it’s titled Beers, Burgers and Dogs.

“Just a little play on the hotdogs provided and the fact that we encourage the local dog owners to come out too,” says Neil van Niekerk of Southern Cross.

“Point of Sand was one of the turtle nesting beaches in July 2011 and it is expected that this year the turtles will once again nest there.

Cayman Distributors supports the Wider Caribbean Sea Turtle Conservation Network and will be providing some water and post cleanup beverages for the cleanup crew as well as cleanup materials including bags and some gloves.

“Some burgers and hotdogs will be on hand; however, feel free to bring your own BBQ needs and cleanup materials to help the cause.”
