Stories, songs and craft making are on the menu for 3 to 5 year olds throughout June and into July thanks to the public library service. The George Town and West Bay public libraries announced the launch of the Play, Read, Learn initiative on May 30.
The programme will take place on Wednesday mornings in George Town and Thursday mornings in West Bay from 10.30 to 11.30am.
There will be space for 15 children and their parents or caregivers at each location. Parents or guardians are asked to stay with their children while they listen to stories, sing songs and create crafts.
The initiative, designed in conjunction with the Early Childhood Care and Education Unit, aims to provide a reading experience for children and their caregivers together that encourages “play with purpose”.
As spaces are limited parents are encouraged to contact the libraries to sign up for the series.
