Thirteen graduates have received certificates upon completing the Domestic Violence Intervention Training Programme offered by elements of social services within the Cayman Islands government.
Drawn from the Department of Community Rehabilitation, postal services, public libraries and crisis centre, as well as retired police officers from the United Kingdom, the latest group of participants were recognised for demonstrating high levels of commitment, increased knowledge and success in their work.
Three, full-day sessions were offered by the Cayman Islands Department of Counselling Services’ Family Resource Centre.
The programme provides sensitivity training for professionals who interact with victims of domestic violence.
The initiative educates people about domestic violence and relevant issues, while providing them an methods to help end the cycle of violence.
