Police appeal for help finding missing man

Cayman Islands police are appealing to the public to help find 31-year-old Hemerson Gonzalez, who has been missing since Tuesday evening.

In a statement released Friday afternoon, police said they were becoming increasingly concerned for the safety and wellbeing of the Guyanese national, a regular visitor to Cayman, who arrived on island on Sunday, 9 December.

Mr. Gonzalez had been staying with a male friend in Canyon Dawn Drive in the Spotts/Newland area. His friend told police that Mr. Gonzalez told him he was ill and suffering from severe vomiting when he left the friend’s house around 5.30pm Tuesday, 11 December.

The missing man is described as 5ft 8in tall, with a dark brown complexion and curly black hair which is about 1- 1.5in in length.

He weighs about  180 lbs and has a tattoo of a compass on his left forearm and writing tattooed on the inside of his left wrist. He speaks with a Guyanese accent.
When last seen, he was wearing  brown jeans shorts, a t-shirt and blue low cut cloth shoes.

Police said he has not been in contact with any friends since Tuesday evening and checks with local hospitals have confirmed that he has not sought medical attention for his illness.

Anyone who knows of his current whereabouts, or can supply any information about his movements since 5.30pm Tuesday, should contact George Town police station on 949-4222.
