The Ecay Traders are no longer among the unbeaten ranks.
Ecay suffered their first loss of the 2013 national youth roller hockey league, losing 7-4 to the Bruins last Saturday. The match took place at Kings Sports Centre.
Brad Lansdell proved to be the danger man for the winners, notching three goals. Evin Johnson chipped in two goals, two assists and Nicholas McCallum had two goals, one assist. All would overcome Jabari Waldron, who registered a hat-trick for Ecay. Waldron now has a league-best 19 goals. The Bruins are now level with the Traders at 2-1 in the Mites 10-Under category.
Saturday’s other Mites contest saw the Ernst and Young Eagles clip the PwC Jets 8-7. Justin Hastings had four goals for the Eagles while Ryan Godwin posted three goals for the Jets.
Another unbeaten side would fall in the Atoms 8-Under division. The Deloitte Hurricanes dropped to 2-1 with a 12-4 defeat to the Lightning, who are now 3-0. Deloitte’s Andrew Hastings posted four scores to push his season tally to 13 goals. Jaxon Cover now has eight goals on the year for the Lightning after nabbing two goals and two assists.
The other Atoms contest saw the Dart Ducks clip the Mourant Marksmen 13-12. Kayden Knapik went off for Dart with 10 goals while Mourant’s Cameron Smith kept pace with eight goals and an assist.
In the Squirts 13-Under segment, the Jets improved to 3-0 with a 6-4 win over the Maples Leaf. Ethan Finlason now has 11 goals this season after posting two goals and two assists. Lex Dobson had two goals and an assist for Maples.
The other Squirts match saw the KPMG Senators clip the Penguins 8-5. KPMG’s Ryan Lloyd and Alex Agemian combined for five goals.
League action continues this Saturday at Kings, running from 8am until 4pm.
