Ducks feel aromatic after flight and set for school

The Cayman Islands Youth Roller Hockey travel team, the Dart Ducks, is hosting an inter-school roller hockey tournament to raise money for their upcoming participation in the North American Roller Hockey Championships in July in Toronto.

Teams are divided by school, who will be represented in 6 and Under, 8&U, 10&U and 13&U categories.

Cayman Prep, Cayman International School and St. Ignatius have registered full teams and other schools, who only had a few players in each category, have joined together.

Some of the mixed teams will include players from Montessori, Hope Academy, First Baptist Christian School, Grace Christian Academy, Red Bay Primary, Prospect Primary and Little Trotters.

The youngest player competing in the tournament is 3.

To assist with fundraising efforts, the travel team will also be hosting a bake sale, book sale and T-shirt sale at the tournament.

The organisers of the tournament would like to thank Ernst & Young for their sponsorship and King’s Sports Centre for their support.

Organisers encourage hockey fans to come down and cheer on the schools as they vie for the
coveted trophy.
