Swiss banker Frederic Bise was killed in 2008
The murder trial related to the killing of banker Frederic Bise began Monday with jury selection.
Chad Jonathan Anglin is charged with murdering Mr. Bise on Feb. 8, 2008, in West Bay with another person, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
Ten women and two men will hear the matter, which was scheduled for 10 working days.
However, Justice Alexander Henderson told the jurors they should not make plans for the week following as the trial could last longer.
Several potential jurors were excused because they are closely related to a serving police officer or because they knew one or more of the witnesses.
Before jury selection began, lead prosecutor Simon Russell Flint QC read the names of more than 20 witnesses.
Jury members were released until Tuesday morning when Mr. Russell Flint is expected to open the prosecution’s case. He is assisted by Crown Counsel Elisabeth Lees. Lead defense counsel is Jonathan Rees QC, assisted by Fiona Robertson.
