A man was arrested on suspicion of gambling and money laundering during a police operation at Bodden Town’s Coe Wood Beach Saturday night.

Royal Cayman Islands Police said the 47-year-old Bodden Town resident was seen with a lottery ticket book when officers approached him. He was arrested and police said cash and additional ticket books were found in his car.

The man was arrested on suspicion of drug possession, as well as in connection with the gambling-related offenses.

Police conducted the raid in conjunction with customs and immigration enforcement officers.

“The presence of illegal gambling and antisocial behavior also impacts the quality of life of members of the community,” said RCIPS Inspector Winsome Prendergast. “The RCIPS, with the help of our partner agencies, will continue to proactively target and prosecute any offenders.”
