Cimboco Academy took top honours for the second straight year at the Clifton Hunter High School annual sports day, held 4 and 6 Feb. at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex.
More than 300 Year 7-11 students competed in various track and field events over the course of the two days. However, the action wasn’t only on the track. Lady Slater Academy earned bragging rights in the cheerleading competition, beating the other academies on points.
“What drives us as physical education teachers is to see our students maximise their potential through sports,” said the school’s PE leader Tashauna Wilmot-Thomas. “The Clifton Hunter High School’s motto, ‘Nothing but the best’, is what we pledged as we organised our sports day events. The results of our efforts were the outstanding performances displayed by our student athletes. We envisioned showcasing the gifted and talented on and off the track through cross country, field events, track events and cheerleading.”
