Bodden Town returns to league play against GT

Bodden Town FC is scheduled to return to the Cayman Islands Football Association league Wednesday, when they face George Town SC at the Annex. The match was initially set for 16 Feb., but it was postponed pending the outcome of an appeal by the Cayman Islands Referees Association, which was calling for stiffer penalties for Bodden Town, following an alleged assault on a referee by a Bodden Town player after a match in January.

Following the appeal last month, CIFA officials confirmed that several Bodden Town players had been suspended and the team had been placed on probation. If Bodden Town wins this Round 10 match against George Town, they would have a tight grip on the league title, with Scholars ISC, now in second place, their only possible challengers for the crown. George Town sits at the bottom of the table with Alliance and North Side.
