Men dressed in dark clothing tried to steal cash from an ATM at the entrance of the Countryside Shopping Village in Savannah early Monday morning, 27 March.
After their failed burglary attempt, they fled the scene in an SUV – which was later recovered after being reported stolen by its owner, according to police.
The incident was reported to 911 and police were dispatched to the area just before 1:30am. They conducted a search but did not find the would-be burglars.
The car was reported stolen at 6am Monday and was found in an isolated area of Rex Crighton Boulevard in George Town.
