The Alex Panton Foundation is a non-profit focused on raising awareness about mental illnesses affecting children and young adults. Established in 2018 in memory of Alex Panton, who succumbed to the effects of severe depression at the age of 16, the Foundation aims to eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness, influence the development of public policy to improve the lives of affected persons, expand health care coverage and provide support and education to those affected by mental illness.
The Cayman Islands Esports Association founded in 2019, was also developed to make a difference in the lives of young people in the community. The Association’s main goals are to promote esports and increase its level of awareness, improve the standard of esports in the Cayman Islands and inspire future talent. Through esports, children are able to learn new skills including basic language, math, reading and social skills.
Since 2017, the Cayman Food Bank has been providing nutritious food to people in the community who are in need. They are currently supporting approximately 500 families per week. The ultimate vision of the Cayman Food Bank is to achieve zero hunger, good health and well-being in our community. They do this by providing access to good, healthy food through gathering and distributing food to individuals, other non-profit social service organisations and various food pantries serving the critical need of low-income families.
