A Bodden Town man who set fire to a vehicle and collided with a fire truck while trying to drive away from the scene entered guilty pleas in the Grand Court on Friday, 9 June.
Appearing via video link from HMP Northward, Fernando Lopez Thompson, 45, entered guilty pleas to one count of arson and another of causing intentional harassment, alarm or distress.
Thompson is said to have set a Jeep Wrangler, valued at $2,500, ablaze shortly after 2pm on 3 May this year.
According to police, Thompson attempted to flee the scene of the Miss Kitty Lane address in Bodden Town in a vehicle, only to collide with a fire truck.
At the time of his arrest, he is said to have become aggressive towards officers, which led to the second charge.
A social inquiry report has been ordered for Thompson, who remains in custody. He is expected to be sentenced in July.
